Facebook rolls out new comment monitoring tools for creators
Facebook trolls got you down? In parallel with Safer Internet Day, Facebook announced that it will soon be rolling out new comment moderation tools that will let creators take bulk actions (like liking or hiding), as well as new functionality to help creators view statistics around their comments. This builds on the network’s live chat and enhanced moderation features released in 2022. “Never read the comments section” no longer applies.
Users may have the ability to change their FYP on TikTok
This one goes out to all the folks who went down a pool cleaning wormhole on TikTok and couldn’t find their way back out, no thanks to the algorithm. TikTok is testing a way for users to reset their For You Pages (FYPs), beginning with a small number of users. The network has come under fire for how, exactly, it makes its recommendations so accurate and how certain things go viral. With this change, maybe there’s still hope we’ll all get our 15 mins (or seconds) of TikTok fame.
