Facebook Reveals Its New Name and What That Means for the Future of The Internet
Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, announced at his company’s Connect event that its new name will be Meta.
Meta will oversee all of the Facebook company’s products, including Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp, as well as any new efforts developed by the company.
Meta is a direct reference to the metaverse, something that experts say will be the next phase of the internet. The metaverse is a concept that blends augmented reality and virtual reality together, providing people with the future of the internet.

Facebook Announces Removel of Ad Targeting Related to Sensitive Topics
Starting January 19, 2022, Facebook will be removing ad targeting relating to political affiliation, religion, sexual orientation, race and ethnicity.
While this will have an impact on marketers who utilize this targeting related to their causes, Facebook hopes this will align with consumer data protection laws to alleviate Facebook of any responsibility for misuse of targeting.
While they continue to refine targeting options, Facebook will be rolling out alternative targeting recommendations.
