Going Viral in Fight Against Child Hunger

COVID-19 introduced a unique set of challenges for Every Meal (formerly known as The Sheridan Story) and broadhead was tasked with helping them meet an urgent fundraising need — $1.5MM in less than one month. Through several well-placed local media stories our team helped them meet that goal, allowing them to continue providing 100,000 meals per week to Minnesota children (4x their pre-COVID food bag output).

The following month, social unrest in Minneapolis hit a boiling point and so did the need for food. Every Meal facilitated a food drive at a local elementary school, hoping to collect 80 bags to distribute in newly created urban food deserts. In the end, they collected a whopping 18,000, resulting in a viral national media moment. With our help, all major national media outlets covered the incredible story – including the TODAY Show, Good Morning America and The Washington Post – as well as local and regional media.

All this attention drove first-time and current donor contributions to a new level, which resulted in the development of a new donor video series designed to keep the goodwill going.
